About NITI Aayog
NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) is the premier policy think tank of the Government of India. It plays a crucial role in formulating strategies, driving economic growth, and fostering cooperative federalism by involving state governments in policymaking. Established in 2015, it replaced the Planning Commission and focuses on areas such as sustainable development, innovation, governance reforms, and social sector initiatives.
NITI Aayog also works towards promoting evidence-based policymaking and serves as a platform for fostering collaboration between the government, industry, and academia to achieve long-term national objectives.
Eligibility Criteria for the NITI Aayog Internship Scheme:
a) Undergraduate Students: Applicants must have completed or appeared for their second-year/4th-semester term-end exams of a bachelor’s degree program. Additionally, they should have secured at least 85% marks or an equivalent grade in their 12th standard.
b) Postgraduate & Research Students: Candidates must have completed or appeared for their first-year/2nd-semester term-end exams of a postgraduate program or be pursuing research/PhD. They should have obtained at least 70% marks or an equivalent grade in their undergraduate degree.
c) Recent Graduates & Postgraduates Awaiting Higher Studies: Students who have appeared for their final exams or recently completed their graduation/postgraduation and are awaiting admission to higher studies may also apply, provided:
- They have secured a cumulative 70% or higher across all years/semesters of their degree at the time of application.
- The gap between the declaration of their final exam results and the intended internship start date does not exceed six months. For example, if the result was announced in June, the candidate can apply for internships starting until December.
How to Appy for Internship at NITI Aayog
- Applications are only allowed from 1st to 10th of every month.
- Applications must be submitted no earlier than six months in advance and no later than two months before the desired internship start month.
- Applications are submitted online on the website of NITI Ayog
